Feedback on your website design is very important.

Working with designers...

A few tips to make it easier on both of us!

Wednesday, August 17, 2022

Do you need a great website designed? When working with a designer, your feedback is very important.

If you're having a website designed (by us hopefully) your feedback is crucial to the outcome. We are a 'team' trying to successfully present your products and/or services to your potential customers. You have goals that will need to be communicated to the designer. Keeping those goals in mind, both parties will need to explain and understand what is needed. Be clear and concise about what your needs are and what you want your website to represent.

5 things you can do to make the project go smoothly.

  • Ask questions: As a designer, I like to learn all that I can about a clients business to increase the success rate that I will make the client happy with the finished project. As a client, you have an opportunity to communicate your vision so that the designer can fully understand what is required. Try asking questions that will open up the conversation and encourage further discussion. Neither party should 'assume' what the other is intending. You are the expert in your field and we can learn about your customers needs from the questions you pose to us.
  • Communicate problems: If you know of or see an issue, you need to describe your 'problems' but no need to offer solutions... that's our job. We have designed many websites and can offer options to your dilemma. Placement of almost any elements on the website can be adjusted, moved to a different page or location on the same page. Let us know WHY you don't like it there and we will be better equipped to propose a better solution.
  • List of changes: Give a concise list of changes rather than confusing ones. A designers worst nightmare is when the client gives changes that contradict one another. For instance, if there are many decision makers involved, peoples opinions may vary. Before offering these changes to your designer, consolidate them into an easy to understand list and try not to allow room for misunderstandings.
  • Focus on your goals: If you have relayed your ideas properly to the designer, these goals should be addressed. So instead of just considering if you LIKE it, remember the goals of the project. Put yourself in the shoes of your potential customers. Would this answer their questions? If so, then the designer has kept your needs in mind. If not, now is the time to ask questions and describe the problems.
  • Tell us the good stuff, too: We all like to know when a job has been well done. So don't forget to tell your designer what IS working well. Feedback is not only to improve the lines of communication but to let us know we have understood and listened to our clients. It encourages us to keep working hard for you and together, we can have a successful completion to the project.

With proper feedback from clients, we can achieve a great end result. We will do our very best to understand your needs from the start so that the whole experience will be a good one. Contact Creative101 today to get your project started.
